A beachfront villa that smelled damp every time the family came home
Problem
A frond villa facing the sea. Every summer the family travelled and came back to musty wardrobes, mold spots behind bedroom furniture and leather bags with white bloom. The AC was left on a timer, but humidity climbed as soon as it cycled off.
Solution
We logged humidity room by room for a month, including the weeks the house was empty. Balcony door seals were replaced and an AC drain line was fixed. Lukas Pro went into the open-plan living and dining area, Albert into each bedroom and dressing room, all set to 55% and connected to drain hoses so they run without anyone emptying tanks.
Result
The bedrooms and wardrobes now stay inside the 50–55% target all year, including the months the villa is empty. After a professional clean, the mold has not come back.
Morning condensation on every window, metres from the beach
Problem
Sea air came in each time the terrace doors opened. By morning the windows and AC grilles were dripping, the sofa fabric felt damp and the bedroom smelled stale. The owners had tried setting the AC colder, which made the condensation worse.
Solution
We explained the dew point problem: colder AC meant colder surfaces and more water on them. The AC was set back to a comfortable 24 °C, and Lukas units with Wi-Fi were placed in the living room and master bedroom so the owners could watch humidity from their phones.
Result
Condensation on the glass and grilles stopped. Humidity holds at the target the owners set in the app, and the AC no longer runs as cold.
A child’s bedroom with allergies, dust and a musty corner
Problem
A family villa in Jumeirah where a child’s bedroom had a musty corner near the AC unit and fine dust after every dust storm. The parents wanted one quiet solution rather than two machines in a small room.
Solution
After testing, the corner was cleaned professionally and the AC was serviced. A Lukas Pro 2-in-1 went into the family room next door, with its HEPA filter catching dust while it dried the air, and an Albert on night mode went into the bedroom itself.
Result
The musty smell has gone, the corner has stayed clean, and the room stays dry and quiet through the night.
Apartments on high floors facing the water. Residents ran the AC all day and still woke up to sticky sheets, wardrobes that smelled damp and condensation on the floor-to-ceiling glass.
Solution
We measured each room and found the bedrooms and wardrobes stayed well above 60% whenever the AC cycled off. Albert units went into the bedrooms for their low noise, and Lukas into the living areas where Wi-Fi control and laundry drying helped.
Result
Bedrooms now sit in the healthy range overnight, wardrobes have stopped smelling, and the glass stays clear in the mornings.
A beachfront hotel had recurring guest comments about a musty smell in some rooms, and housekeeping found the linen stores and back-of-house storage felt damp, with towels slow to dry.
Solution
We assessed the affected rooms and storage areas. Lukas Pro units with drain hoses were placed in the linen stores and storage rooms to run continuously, and quiet Albert units were used in the rooms that stayed most humid, on night mode so guests are not disturbed.
Result
The linen and storage areas now stay dry, the musty smell in the treated rooms has gone, and housekeeping no longer needs to re-dry stock.
An indoor pool that was soaking the rooms around it
Problem
A villa with an indoor pool. The pool hall fogged up, and the gym, changing room and storage next to it had peeling paint, rusting fittings and a constant damp smell. The pool room was air-conditioned colder than the water, which made evaporation worse.
Solution
We were honest: a pool hall needs its own engineered dehumidification system, and we referred that part to an engineer. We advised keeping the pool room air slightly warmer than the water and covering the pool when not in use. Lukas Pro units with drain hoses went into the gym, changing room and storage.
Result
The rooms around the pool are now dry and stay within the target, the paint has been redone without peeling again, and the pool hall load is handled by its own system.
Cardboard packaging was softening, labels were peeling and textiles smelled damp in the enclosed storage rooms of a Dubai warehouse, especially in the humid months when loading doors were opened often.
Solution
We zoned the enclosed storage rooms that held sensitive stock and placed Lukas Pro units on continuous drainage in each, kept doors closed between loading, and set a 50% target. Larger open areas were advised to use a fixed industrial system.
Result
The enclosed storage rooms now hold steady humidity, packaging stays firm and stock no longer picks up a damp smell.
